HITA GETA - WOMEN'S (35-38) - INDIGO - SNOW PEAK
These GETA sandals are named after the Japanese town of Hita where they are traditionally made. The base is made of typical cedar wood (Hita Cedar) grown in the surrounding forests. Wood renowned for its beauty, quality, and characteristic sweet smell. The straps are in indigo canvas made in Okayama. On this modernized version, an EVA sole is added to provide grip and better walking comfort.
* Attention ! for non-Japanese people, this traditional cut is very special. Unlike most sandals, the Geta fits slightly small. Your heel should extend over the edge of the base by approx. 2-3 cm. Your little toe should stick out too ! The strap will initially be tight on the foot and a little stiff but will soften after a few uses.
There is no left or right foot: usually, both Geta sandals are identical.
They are suitable for western sizes ranging from 35 to 38 , foot length from 22 to 24 cm.
Yukio Yamai created Snow Peak in 1958, in reference to Mount Tanigawa, a Japanese mountain famous for its beauty. The quality, technology and robustness of Snow Peak products make it the benchmark brand in Japanese outdoor.

Yukio Yamai founded Snow Peak in 1958, named after Mount Tanigawa, a Japanese mountain famous for its beauty, but also for its danger and the many failures of mountaineers attempting to reach its glorious summit.
Drawing on his personal experiences (having reached the summit himself several times), he created innovative mountaineering equipment using the expertise of renowned Sanjo metalworkers (the city where our tools and some Niwaki knives are produced).
In the 70s, his son Tohru decided to expand the range to include camping and the outdoor lifestyle.
His feelings of frustration and disconnection when in the city would vanish when spending time in nature, a form of healing that was both restorative and revitalizing.
Today, Snow Peak’s mission remains the same: to offer and create restorative outdoor experiences that alleviate the stresses of modern life and help people reconnect with the rhythms of the natural world.
